Michelle Hill is an exoplanet astrophysicist and Stanford Science Fellow studying what makes a world habitable — and, more sharply, how small a planet can be and still hold onto liquid water. She detects and characterizes planets in their stars' habitable zones using radial velocity, transit, and astrometry, and built the Smaller Than Earth Habitability Model to pin down that lower size limit.
