Baylor University
Professor of Physics at Baylor University, leading the Early Universe Cosmology and Strings group in Baylor's CASPER center and studying how string theory shaped the universe's first moments.
Gerald B. Cleaver is a Professor of Physics and Graduate Program Director at Baylor University, where he has led the Early Universe Cosmology and Strings division of the Center for Astrophysics, Space Physics and Engineering Research (CASPER) since 2002. His research centers on string phenomenology: constructing realistic models of particle physics from string theory and exploring what string theory implies for the earliest moments of the universe.
He earned his Ph.D. in physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1993, following bachelor's degrees in physics and mathematics from Valparaiso University. Before joining Baylor in 2001, he held postdoctoral positions at Ohio State University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Texas A&M University.
